Hi! This is a speedy portrait (about 2 days ~ approx 8h of work), that's made as a practise before proceeding making various greyscale/duotone character concepts. Had a lot of fun with this one, since he's a char in my book anyway, so nothing goes "wasted"

Hi! 
I think it`s good time to show some new development about my `Ordera` -project. It`s been too long since the last one 
Here`s a creature called a zara. Their history is shrouded in mystery and isolation, after their race was hunted and hated and put to exile. Most of all zaras in Ordera were killed in the kingdom of Pangaya. Now there`s only a handful left of these beings who to most people are merely called as a `demon`, but they don`t know what this actually means in `real life`, usually people mistake them for being beggars or hermits and forget they saw them at all. Countering a zara face to face doesn`t get to happen but very rarely, since they do not want to be seen but only in the places they need to be present and manage business affairs. They hide their face under the deep hood to avoid sunlight at all cost, since their skin is extremely sensitive and easy to burn in bright sunlight. They enjoy the light otherwise deeply.


I translated a small chapter from the book itself where there`s a conversation between Shivarka and Kifu, the previous being a young sangrae composer (sorcerer in certain terms).


'Zara sighed and shook his head.
'You thought even I was a fable, slackminded boy. I can see inside your mind easily as watching a starry sky in bright moonlight. Everything can be seen with bare eyes, but you don`t even try to see beyond your own stupidity. You`d be surprised what lies out there.. there can be whole worlds which you don`t want to see. However they see you the moment you close your eyes! Hahahaha!'
After this been said, Shivarka didn`t speak further that night. 


Kifu couldn`t sleep at all. He watched the demon and tried to resolve his mixed and frightened thoughts. 
Was Rei in such a place what Shivarka had mentioned? It couldn`t be.. '

Big city concept, based to the sceneries in my book "Ordera". It's the city of golden sunsets, city of power and wealth, tyranny and freedom. Also a place where the heroes and antiheroes meet to start their long journey together.

Made with combination of scanned old historical photos and painting in Photoshop & Painter. Pretty happy how it turned out.. was a lot of nibbling with the details, actually so much that my eyes hurt at the end X)

This is a challenge piece made for It's Art -forum's theme of  Unknown Place; and it happened that it won the 1st place!!! 

I got a description finally for it too.. by the time I painted this, it didn't come to me in that way I wanted it to be described, so I just would say that it tells about the forces inside of more powerful forces who always struggle for dominance but the other cannot be greater than the other, however the coin flips by a chance and something small might change the outcome of this 'duel' of controversies.

I am you;

Shawan character (fire-demon): Trian Gatra. Dream Seer and served as a Guardian to young Prince Roshiko aka "Frosteye" Amanogawa, until a terrible event took place. Trian's failure concerning it was evident and as punishment from the King and Queen Amanogawa, the shawan-priests were ordered to paint permanent distinctive red stain over his face as the 'Mark of Shame'

Hello!
It's been a long time since I posted something new here. Here's a speedpainting /practise for landscape. I only used Photoshop CS5, took 2 hours to finish.

I did a sketch of this over a year ago, and finally finished it today, leaving it brushy and 'windy'. I'm very fascinated about 'digital impressionism' these days, if you may call it like that.
Many know the legend of Lady Godiva and she's been one of the inspirational figures to me for many years.
This time I made her hair REALLY red. Also wrote a small poem for her:


'Hair like fire,
heart beating like a fiddle,
she rides across the lands as an unsolved riddle.
Stallion leads as she looks at the gallows, 
never again, she says,
for I must bear this sorrow, 
o' Sky, I must ride, whilst you watch as my only mirror!


Tomorrow, tomorrow,
she must ride until tomorrow,
until she finds her Champion,
who may bear all her griefs,
and may end all gallows!
Until then,
she's found at the shores of the Hollows'
