ozhaver Osvaldo Haver, artista digital

 Name: Osvaldo Haver

ozhaver

Date of Birth: April 4, 1982
Gender: Male
Location: Barranquitas, Puerto Rico
Nationality: citizen of the World
Language(s): English, Italian, Spanish
Website: http://oz-haver.deviantart.com
Email: ozhaver@gmail.com
Working as a freelance: Muse-Assassin for Hire

Recent graduate (B.A. Plastic Arts- Magna Cum Laude) who's just started a new "life". I got a lovely welcome into the ranks of starving artists...by monetary debts due to studies.

Working hard to acquire the means to enter into a quality MFA program...which right now means 'showbiz'. Life is ironic, but it does give you tons of things to talk and think about.

Main interests flow towards the arts: painting, drawing, music, drama, literature.

I have a weakness for asian cultures, films of all kinds, RPGs, good manga/animé, chocolate, video games and beauty in all aspects.

I enjoy greatly sharing with my friends (those that live nearby and my online ones who are just as great).

The Repression of Frustrations: Of How I Learned to Sing in Silence.
I made this piece merging various aspects of my life into the characters and the background. I don’t wish to talk about the issues publicly… but no, it isn’t just a pretty picture. =D
But, I can say a thing or two about the other elements/symbols. The girl’s name is Morgan, which I think is a nice in-between sounding-name of Morgana and Morrigan. The flying thing is the Mikumiku… (don’t ask where I got this name from- to those who know me better it isn’t a stranger). The small blue flowers are a version of Forget-me-nots (I eliminated the green leaves). The other floating islands are either alive or dying, the rest I leave open to interpretation…
The WIP is in the WIP 2D Forum if anyone wants to see the process or questions on how I made this. I used Photoshop CS and a Wacom Intuos 2 12"x12".
First time I ever submit anything here *nervous*
*Edit: I updated the piece. A friend suggested me to desaturate her a bit, so I did; I think the picture looks better now. I also added another floating island and played with the grass some more.

Just a character concept portrait done for a friendly contest @ another forum. The theme was "RPG Character Showdown" (RPG as in paper & dice :P the real deal!). I played her for some time when I used to enjoy Vampire The Dark Ages. Not my usual serious work. This is what I tended to paint and draw like in my earlier years, when I was still in school.

Some information:

Current Identity: Atanasia Zaharia
Bloodline: Lamia
Disciplines: Mortis(Paths: The Grave's Decay, The Corpse in the Monster,

Portrait of R.Ikeda de ozhaver (Osvaldo Haver)

Title: Portrait of R.Ikeda
Author: Osvaldo Haver
April 2006
When the girl looks at you with such an entrancing sight, you feel yourself ready for any kind of desperations and unsane deeds. Magnetic and appealing, these eyes make you go crazy and they are driving you mad. There is no way out, you can not resist this temptation.

Dead Forest Pandemonium: the Sentence of the Last Flower.
“When all was over, home came Winter- every branch, bough, trunk and root perished under the cruelty of the overwhelming snow. Except one…it survived even the snow’s cruelty and the fury of the blizzard. This one still shone bright with imprisoned colors even if lost in the middle of all the blinding whiteness. It was alone in a world of dead and dying trees- a lovely flower amongst snappy twigs.
Home came winter…
She bears razor sharp scissors in her hand. She holds within her existence the cruel coldness, the dying hope, broken dreams; a bleeding heart and death incarnate. She is the inevitable result, a nightmare woven by those who learn how to surrender.
It who shone bright and survived beyond all endings resolves to bow down showing submission. Its passion still persists… still retains some heat of life. A drop of water formed from frozen morning dew runs down its shape. In its path down the droplet gathers all the forgotten memories. The final moment comes near, but the seeds are immature. In this new ending the one realizes that it is the last of its kind. Her presence is felt.
“So where shall I cut?”- the lady asks.
Home came Winter….”
I made this piece as part of a series called The Heartbreak Symphony that started with The Repression of Frustrations: of How I Learned to Sing in Silence. It is a metaphor for human relationship dynamics- pertaining especially to love & pain (and other emotions). Inspiration was taken from events that have occurred to me during this year
